How to Build an Andean Altar and Conduct a Personal/Family Andean Ceremony

Non-indigenous people who respectfully learn, observe, and participate in public ceremonial traditions rooted in the Andean cosmovision might not realize that it is more than acceptable to bring Andean altars and ceremonies into their own personal space.

This workshop begins with an introduction to essential altar elements and common symbols. We then learn how to arrange temporary or permanent Andean altars outdoors in nature or inside our homes. In addition, a yachak (shaman) Tayta Willak, who has performed thousands of South American and North American ceremonies, will provide workshop participants with guidance and suggestions for how we can create our own personal and family Andean ceremonies.  â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Workshop fee includes teachings, an Andean group ceremony, a pachamanka meal, and round-trip transportation from San Francisco Park in Cotacachi or the Otavalo bus terminal.
