Sound Healing
in the Andean Shamanic Tradition

In Andean Kichwa shamanic tradition, the power of sound, vibration, and frequencies is key to restoring and maintaining balance in mental, emotional, and physical health.

In sound healing, the healer is the primary instrument, channeling nature’s healing energy to the client, with other instruments serving as extensions of this energy. To be an effective sound healer, one must first cleanse themselves and stay in harmony with Pachamama and the four natural elements. Different instruments, including the voice, work to unblock, heal, and balance spiritual energy across the three energy centers (pachakuna) in the body: upper hanakpacha, mid kaypacha, and lower ukupacha.

Through ancient, modern, and nature-based instruments, combined with the voice and body, a yachak (Andean shaman) connects with the spiritual energy of the condor, mountains, Pachamama, and the four elements to support physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
